The Home Run Ball!!!

It was fun to make it to the playoffs again. Ty played great throughout the tournament. The first game was against Juan Diego. We lost that game but both Ty and Kyle hit a home run in that game. And then we played Cedar City and Ty pitched a great game and also hit a triple in that game and we won that game so we could continue on. And then we played Grantsville. Th pitched an excellent game and he had the home run of his life. There were houses down the left field line and there was a home run fence and then a fence that was there to protect the homes, well Ty hit it so far it hit the roof of one of the houses and then bounces across the street. After the game Russ and I found the ball next to a tree across the street from that house. It was amazing. After that we played Canyon View and we lost that game and got beat out of tournament. It was a close game and could have gone either way. Over all it was a good season.

Video

We played Richfield today and Ty threw really hard. He had 7 strike outs in 4 innings. He struck out 5 of the first 6 batters that he faced and then our contagious errors (6 of them) that our team seems to be prone to began. Scott was nice enough to bring his $1000 radar gun to the game so we could see how fast Ty could throw. His fast ball was consistently around 84-85 mph and his top speed was 87 mph. His change-up and curve were clocked at 70-71 mph.

Win Some - Lose Some

Ty has been pitching GREAT!!! We have had some close games. We are a young team and with that youth we have to play through some inexperience and some errors in the field. But, they are having fun and loving the game. Ty has been pitching 10 to 15 innings a week. Last Friday we lost to Emery 5-4. Ty pitched all 7 innings with about 94 pitches. He pitched against Juab last night, all 7 innings with 76 pitches and 7 strike outs. He hit a timely home run with Kyle on 2nd base. We were down by one at the time and that put us ahead and gave us the momentum that we needed. We ended up winning 4-1.
